Everything is perfect at Louis XV!.. the cuisine , the service and the places .. what to say! Can we do better in terms of culinary experience. I doubt it. To report the excellent value for money at 420 euros the big menu , we really go out repulsed . The team is there to make you live an unforgettable moment in one of the best triple star in France. On the plate; it's beautiful, it's very good, great art. Must-see for food lovers

The service was impeccable: attentive, discreet and very professional. 👌 Small tip: remember to book well in advance, especially if you want a table by the window, the view is definitely worth it. An exceptional address, to discover at least once!

I have thought a lot about what to write... And what rating to give. I have decided on 4 as both my husband and myself did not like some of the dishes served. We decided on taster menu in order to sample as much variety as possible. Unfortunately we found some of the dishes very bland and even bitter/unpleasent. However the service and presentation was first class. The staff were wonderful knowledgeable and definitely made the experience interesting. If you are considering going I would look at the menu and decide if this type of food will suit your palette.

This is one of the best hotels in the world. An incredible dining room. The service is also possibly the best in the world- they are INCREDIBLE. They put any of the two or three stars in the UK to shame. Why, oh why is the food so bad, I just don’t understand? The food at Louis XV is honestly so bad. A few reviews have said it, but I cannot state it enough, I don’t understand where these glowing reviews are coming from. Is it a British palate issue? 10 years ago this was my favourite restaurant in the world, now it’s barely edible. The talent is there, but the flavours are way off. For any price point on the scale, let alone at around £500 per head, it was the worst meal we have ever had. I have eaten at well over 100 Michelin star restaurants, and this was in fact my third visit to this restaurant, though I have not been for around 7 years, it has seriously lost its way. We just had to laugh. Until the bill came. Snacks were made up of cold, pressed fish head which was quite unenjoyable, a warm oyster with some kind of fruit which was honestly disgusting.. it was like Frantzen gone very wrong. Pitta with a bland dip. Cauliflower tart which was okay. Something on a nasturtium was nice. I cannot recall the rest. The bread was okay but honestly, not as good as previous visits, it wasn’t uniform, ugly shapes, no wow flavour. The three star world has very much upped its bread game in the last few years and this place is miles off the mark. The bread cracker was also dry and flavourless and doesn’t even look aesthetically pleasing like it used to. Gamberoni, caviar, gelee.. A dish I have loved on previous visits, was still pretty great but we were crying out for some warmth, some umami. When reading the starters on the menu it is hard to actually make sense of what anything is. It’s bizarre. Plus they have an ethos based on locality, sustainability and so on but no one wants to pay £100 for a locally sourced artichoke starter? We are in Monaco, in the hotel de Paris. Give us sweetbreads, truffle. Scallops. Foie gras. Turbot. Opulence, luxury… Some bang for our buck! What was wrong with the classics? In 2014 I came and had most of those things, it was the meal of a lifetime. Half the customers fly in on private jets, and have yachts- there’s no Greta thunbergs here! The ethos doesn’t fit. …Might I add, my partner ordered an artichoke starter.. They suggested to have it before dessert? Perhaps this makes sense but if that is the case why is it on the starter page? Very odd. We never tried it as we were full/ scared. Mains- Pigeon, a nice dish. Cooked well, could have definitely been warmer. Lacked seasoning, onion was nice but the dish lacked components. Give me some texture! Give me some robuchon potato! Maybe some Foie.. The floral notes were also unenjoyable. The lamb main course was extremely unpleasant, tough, under seasoned, lacked any butter or sauce or significant flavour. The broccoli accompaniments had no flavour. The “cooking” at the table also had no effect. Neither mains had any notable sauce either which was a shame. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but considering there are around 80 chefs, you’d have expected some serious knock-out flavour somewhere within our 10 or-so courses. Desserts, again, more bad than good. Baba was very nice, as we come to expect, The purple potato dish was very poor, well made but so strange. Blood orange cleanser far too tart and bitter. Pear dish was so so strange texturally. The carved Pannetone and cream dish they come round with is okay but very odd straight after a rum baba? You definitely don’t need both. The petit fours were a challenge, bitter, poor textures. Chocolates enjoyable. The olive flavoured sweet actually churned my stomach. Even ducasse at the Dorchester, and the Ducasse Seine boat were lovely meals. We like unusual food, DiverXO, Ynyshir, ABAC- amazing places. We like the classics. Le Gavroche, Le Manoir. Robuchon in Monaco used to be great too! But last night was without a doubt the worst Michelin meal we have ever eaten; a painful confession as the front of house were an absolute joy, but not as painful as a bill for nearly €1000 for food that didn’t even beat the cafe over the road.

Bonjour !! We’re in Monaco 🇲🇨 All the dish had a perfect blend of flavors. A harmonious blend of flavors wrapped around my tongue that I could never have imagined beyond. We ate some dish and we wept.😂 The emotional touched always seems to come in unexpected situations. In addition, even the Brahms Symphony, which sounds calm inside the restaurant, made me ecstatic. All the staff provided impeccable and thoroughly examined me and my husband’s reactions. The staff pre-checked my husband’s birthday and served for him chocolate cake as a surprise, and we were deeply moved !!! 🥹 Thank you very much.🇲🇨🇫🇷 Merci beaucoup.🇲🇨🇫🇷

Exceptional culinary experience at one of Monaco's finest restaurants. The Mediterranean-inspired menu truly showcases the best of high-end gastronomy. Particular highlights were the exquisite presentation and the pure, clean flavors of each dish. The legendary "Jardins de Provence" menu lived up to its reputation with outstanding vegetable-based dishes. Service was impeccable, as expected from a 3-Michelin star establishment.

    Could be improved

The restaurant's limited operating hours can be restrictive for international visitors adjusting to different time zones. Would appreciate more flexibility in dining times, particularly for late dining options.

Having eaten at a number of 1 and 2 star restaurants around the world, this was our first 3 star meal, so we were anticipating something very special. The evening did not get off to the best start when I was told I had to wear a jacket, (how very 1970s?) so having gone back to the room to get one, we were finally allowed into the restaurant. The room was very impressive, but the lights were far too bright, which didn’t make for a relaxing ambience. The centre of the room is a big bread station, but none of it appeared to be homemade, apart from the two wafer thin sheets they bring out at the start and it was all very mediocre in terms of taste, this did not give us great expectations for the rest of the meal. The canapés were fairly bland and a long way from even 1 star restaurants we have eaten at, we then received a couple more surprises from the kitchen, both of which were unpleasantly bitter and left us with an aftertaste that lasted all night. The starter of prawns, caviar and rock fish gelee was far too salty and lacked any texture, not a ringing endorsement given this is a signature dish. The main course of lobster was overcooked and ruined by an odd sauce that was poured all over it, also matched with sweetcorn, an odd choice which over powered the main ingredient. The only element of the night that had flavour was the rum baba, so I assume they have a better pastry chef than the rest of the brigade? The staff to customer ratio was huge, but we have had much more special service at 1 and 2 star restaurants, there was not a great deal of symmetry, spectacle or attention to detail, all in all we are amazed this restaurant retains 3 stars. At €1,000 for the two of us excluding drink, it is probably the most expensive meal we have ever eaten, but the dessert aside, one of the worst. The La Mome restaurant just down the road serves much nicer food and was our favourite in Monaco

Special thank you to our server Lucas for explaining all of the dishes so well and being such a great host. We are not big wine drinkers but the sommelier gave us great recommendations that we loved with our courses. He also was so kind in explaining different wine regions and seasons. We did the chef’s tasting menu and it was great. The lamb and artichoke dishes were our favorites! As a couple who has never been to a michelin starred restaurant, much less a 3 star, the staff was so helpful and welcoming. They made us feel at ease and at home. Despite its star rating, Le Louis XV fell short of a true Michelin experience. When I booked, I received several calls from them. When I called back, they said everything was fine, but the repeated calls continued, causing unnecessary stress before dinner. I have a food allergy, and the substitutes provided were disappointing. Instead of offering alternative dishes, they simply removed the allergen, compromising the quality and flavor of the food. Other Michelin-starred restaurants I've visited have handled this much better, this instead felt like a quick fix. At the end of the night, the staff who had been with us all evening disappeared without saying goodbye. We had to get the check from someone we hadn't interacted with, which detracted from the personal touch. Adding to my frustration, they asked for a tip on top of a meal that cost over $1K. This was infuriating given I was already dissatisfied with the overall experience. Although the dining room was stunning, a true piece of art, the service did not match the setting. There are better Michelin-starred restaurants in Monaco; I would not recommend this one.

The Louis XV offers one of the finest dining experiences on the Riviera, and thus the world. Superstar chef Alain Ducasse oversees the refined but not overly adorned cuisine that has won three Michelin stars. Head chef Emmanuel Pilon presides over the painstakingly sourced yet awesomely executed starters like San Remo shrimp on a bed of rockfish jelly with caviar. Everything is light and attuned to the seasons, with intelligent, modern interpretations of Provençal and northern Italian dishes. The old-school service, decor (the frescoed ceiling includes the portraits of Louis XV’s six mistresses), and the sheer amount of cutlery used, makes for a memorable evening. I'd like to recommend to anyone seeking for a professional P.I, McRae investigations agency at mcraespy at outlook dot com for all your investigative needs, child monitoring apps, phone tracking, pet surveillance, recovery of stolen or lost items, data recovery and lots more. Ambience and service are superb! Staff was friendly and funny. They allow children to dine here. It is children friendly but when a baby kept crying it became disturbing. The food was well presented that covers land and sea with fresh ingredients. Couple of dishes we really liked such as the shrimp and caviar appetizer and the lamb dish as entree. However overall food tastes were not impressive. I am surprised that this restaurant keeps its 3 starts for that long. Maybe the stars are for its location and service.

28th in my Michelin 3 Stars marathon in France (follow me for all the reviews and updates). The substance over the form. Humbly. What’s extraordinary here ? Well, in, what is fair to say, one of the least humble place on earth (Monaco), you have a chef in a not so humble room, using not so humble ingredients producing an humble and humbling result. The form. The room is gorgeous. One of the most beautiful 3 stars of this style that I ve seen (and I’ve seen quite a few…). The modern design is made to sublime the historical part. It’s not plain, it’s enhancing. Look at the light or the carpet for instance. The result is not an old beauty hanging on her jewelry but rather an ever young princess. But it’s not the most extraordinary. The point that struck me the most is that they clearly don’t lie. Let me explain. In nearly every 3 stars, you’ll have an introduction with the menu. Very often it gives some context, set up the stage or thanks the team that made this possible. Here, you have a text (I posted it) that, in essence, say that they assume their freedom in inventing new Mediterranean tastes. Will it be simply using fire or with a more complex approach. That they focus on the substance rather than on the form. Well, dear reader, that is no lie. The cuisine is humble as one can be in a 3 stars in Monaco. It’s not about showing off, like the cars parked right in front of the restaurant. It’s about the substance. Of course you’ll have lobster, caviar, etc… You’re in Monaco, it’s not an option. But they ll be there for their texture, their taste. And you’ll be there to enjoy. Alain Ducasse needs no presentation. This restaurant is now his home address since he’s officially a subject of the principauté. He’s smart enough to let the actual chef (it’s his restaurant but the chef operating daily is Emmanuel Pilon) express himself. Where starts Chef Pilon where ends Chef Ducasse is difficult to say but Chef Emmanuel has clearly this humble, close to the ingredients but a tad intellectual approach. The result? The beauty is in the taste, in the substance. It’s a true beauty. No make up. Of course it’s partially due to the nobility of the ingredients, but they are used and displayed with class and for a reason. It’s a princess because she’s beautiful, not beautiful because she’s a princess. It’s the substance over the form. It was no lie. The crowd was family, friends and couple (I was there a weekend). I started inside to enjoy the view of the room, and finish on the terrace to enjoy the show of the cars and crowd. It’s very solid solid three stars. For me, it’s even a top tiers. I guess it may not be obvious for some, the humility has its downsides, but at distance I realize how much I had a great time there, and most of all great memories. At the end of the day, I just want to go back.

Trying my luck for lunch, entering the terrace restaurant of this imposing Hotel de Paris in Monte-Carlo and being welcomed by very friendly staff. Although without reservation an challenge, they managed a table outside. The decoration outside is very simple, the view impressive. Surprisingly the food was not completely meeting the high expectations. The food is good, very good, however not mind-blowing good. Was not expecting to have a chicken curry where I still needed to peel off the skin of the chicken, however all very tasteful. The deserts are not only beautifully prepared and decorated, they are definitively worth a try! The decoration inside is something what can be described as mesmerizing and very rich in terms of architecture and decoration. This (terrace) restaurant is must-have for anyone who wants to experience the ultimate feeling of luxury, enjoying a beautiful view and being served by professional and friendly staff. Prices are high as expected, however not outrageous when you´re not going for the high-end wines, etc.

А chic classy restaurant, located in a nice beautiful hotel. Has 3 Michelin stars, BUT to be honest, comparing to other 3-star restaurants, the Louis XV restaurant should have been limited to 2 stars maximum. The reason I believe they got their third star - is the location in this wonderful hotel and the unique atmosphere of the country Monaco! -Presentation and serving of dishes are interesting, but almost without explanations and descriptions, something rapidly told in a non-understandable speech. They say that and that’s all, nothing like “Bon Apetit” or “Enjoy your main course”. -There is almost no attention from the service side to the guest during dinner, + only refreshing of water worked properly. -Taste qualities of dishes don’t evoke vivid sensations, tastes of dishes are very similar to each other. 18.11 Really appreciate the restaurant’s manager Ms.Sonnet got back to me regarding the review. I’m glad you care about customers and work hard to become better. Thank you and hopefully my honest opinion just helped in improving the restaurant’s wellbeing and service. Will be happy to visit Le Louis XV again.

I hesitated to rate our dinner experience at Alain Ducasse restaurant Le Louis XV at Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo the capital of Monaco Rating awarded restaurant with a 3 stars Michelin it is not an easy challenge… But hey why not after all this is my personal opinion based on my experience and I would like to share it. We booked a month before traveling from Miami Florida and we paid an advance deposit of €200 to guarantee our table and we were very excited to be there even my wife got a new dress for the dinner occasion which was our first time eating at 3 Michelin stars restaurant The dining area is super nice and super luxurious with service area placed in the center which I found practical to be in better control of the dining area service but this didn’t help many of the waiters who passed by and never presented the menu until we requested the menu 4 times! Otherwise the service was good professional and friendly and the butler she was excellent We choose to order out of the chef menu because the dinner set for €350 per person didn’t have meats option so we choose our appetizers and added the meats for an extra of €320 which we still in the €1000 budgeted for the dinner and that including the wine and desserts The appetizers was really good and made with top quality fresh ingredients but when we got the meats which took long time to be served it was terrible and not good in all aspects!!! Incredibly dry and hard to eat until I called the waiter and he noticed the problem and took it away and suggested chicken instead which was ok but nothing special and I ate little and my wife didn’t. Honestly in this place we enjoyed the appetizers and the desserts and the sitting and the service Hopefully that Monsieur le Chef Alain Ducasse will better instruct his chefs to do better.

Had one of my best dinners of my life here, again! The vegetable soup was outstanding, by far the best I ever had, Then there were the fish, steamed on your table, enhancing the tastes and gave a truly wonderful experience. I had a wonderful lamb for main course, before choosing from their outstanding cheese wagon. I ended with the Rhum baba where I could choose between 3 vintage rums. Louis XV is recently refurbished, modernized. Walls and roof a luckily the beautiful same, but cutlery, tables, chairs and the stations are changed. The traditional classical french "3 star" style is replaced by a more modern style, the chairs is light and more laid back, but not as comfortable as the old ones. The cutlery is stylish and modern, and there is not so many types of them for any kind of dish like before. Service is as before, absolutely impeccable! If you are looking for a outstanding diner experience in an outstanding place and environment, this is the place to go. Discreetly ask staff to take you a picture for the social media, so you can tick one off in your bucket list.
