I visited this boutique to trade in a single earring (having lost the second one) for a new pair, a service Van Cleef officially provides. After explaining what I was looking for, I immediately felt unwelcome. The staff did not seem interested in selling anything. I was told there was “no stock” before anyone even asked which earrings I was referring to or checked availability.
Instead, I got asked a series of questions like:
“Why don’t you buy them in London?” (as I had mentioned that the London boutique informed me of this service)
“Do you live far from the London boutique?”,
“Have you checked in the boutique in Cannes?”,
“Have you checked your car or your home for the lost earring?”,
“Are your ears pierced?” (???)
These questions were unnecessary and inappropriate, and the overall attitude felt unwelcoming. If there truly was no stock, the correct and expected response would have been to offer a solution such as placing an order. I eventually asked about this myself, they however didn’t offer this option. I was also interested in a second pair of earrings but it never got to that as I chose to leave.
A customer should not have to justify why they want to spend their money in a particular boutique. Very disappointing and far below the standard you would expect from a luxury jewellery house.

Had an amazing in-store experience with Xiaoyue Qi! She explained the history of the Van Cleef and the process of creating the Vintage Alhambra. I was not originally planning on making a purchase, but she took her time and brought out different versions of the bracelet and was sold on the Carnelian stoned version. Next time I am in Van Cleef Monaco, I hope to experience this again and will purchase!

Had to find a necklace for my daughter’s birthday and ended up at Van Cleef & Arpels in Monaco, chatting with Mrs. Dimitrova. Very professional, patient, funny and helpful. I definitely will go back there next time an occasion comes up. By the way, my daughter is a very happy woman and went back a few days later for a matching bracelet. 👍

The staff is totally not interested in selling anything if you arrive before the closing time. It’s easier to say they have nothing left in the store especially when the car with the husband of the SA has arrived.( I can understand more languages than French or English) Very poor service. I am a client of VCA but the MC store is just terrible. They are treating everyone like tourists but they forget that maybe people will to go other brands who know how to treat their clients 😊 I was made to feel uncomfortable in a store I have been shopping before just because the SA was in a hurry. Making clients feel unwelcome will cost you one day;) Probably nobody reads the reviews since they are so bad but nobody is doing anything. Just FYI after I left VCA I ended in another brands store and I spent my money there .
