it is a great establishment located in a great area, i just wish they told me that the chicken skewers had vodka in the sauce as i would not feed it to my baby. other than that they are super kind and sweet and honestly i would recommend them to anyone

We had lunch here yesterday under the glorious Mediterranean December sun, everything was exquisite and amazingly delicious prepared by the master chef Mr. Shahar Dan. The service was both highly efficient and professional. The restaurant is very clean and beautifully decorated both inside and outside. The overall presentation of the dishes was superb. You can tell that there are real pros in the kitchen that love their art. The taste is what really shines through. Everything is extremely delicious. The lobster tempura as well as the calamari/seaweed/and truffle salad are to die for. The beef and foie gras wonton dumplings are so light and delicious. For dessert the matcha tea and pistachio tiramisu is a must try, incredibly delicious. All in all an absolutely perfect Japanese restaurant that everyone must try !

This restaurant added 25 to 30 % "taxes and service" to our bill, claiming this was normal in Monaco.Be aware that the prices on the menu are not accurate. There is no info on the menu or anywhere else about this American style. Have not encountered this before or after at this restaurant (this was our third visit)or at any other restaurants in Monaco.

We've dined here three times already and plan to return again. Even our young son, who wasn’t exactly quiet, was warmly welcomed, which we greatly appreciated. This restaurant is the perfect destination if you want to experience authentic Japanese cuisine without leaving Monaco. Located close to the sea, the setting is stunning, especially with the beautiful terrace, which provides an ideal spot for dining. The service is top-tier, matching the luxurious atmosphere of the restaurant, and making every visit special. The ambiance is refined, offering a premium dining experience where you can relax and truly enjoy your time. Additionally, parking is very convenient with a spacious garage nearby, making access easy. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an authentic dining experience.

Have been twice, once when it opened and then about 4 months ago. It was pretty good the first time, but really good a few months back. We are going again in September when the kids go back to school. We are vegetarian, the options are really good for us. Its not cheap, but we could not replicate the food at home, so its worth it. This is a real treat. Keep it up guys.

The best place in Monaco if you want to eat and feel in Japan. The location is great nearby the sea, the terrace is perfect to enjoy the sunset and chill during evenings. Food makes you travel to Tokyo with the flavors of the Miso soup, the bento box are amazing,…and service level is high end. The atmosphere of the restaurant is premium and allows you to really enjoy your time there. Check my pictures & videos.

The Niwaki - Unimpressive Experience. I do not recommend visiting The Niwaki restaurant. We have order 5 rolls, two miso soups and some appetisers and for the price charged the quality was below subpar. Upon asking the waiter I was informed that only one of their fish items is sourced from Japan, nevertheless the restaurant doesn’t hesitate to charge prices similar to what luxury restaurants sourcing from Japan do. Miso soup tasted far too salty and had a familiar taste and smell of prepackaged dashi (instant miso soup). Some rolls were soaked in lemon juice which I found to be quite distasteful as I wanted to taste fresh fish. The prices for their nigiri and sashimi are abysmal - €8 per piece of Norwegian salmon is crazy to be honest. The overall taste impression of the whole meal was lacklustre, it is very evident that the dishes were adapted to suit a European palette, completely disrespecting authentic Japanese cuisine flavour. If you are looking for a restaurant that assumes that you can’t tell a difference between authentic Japanese flavour and European imitation because it’s in Monaco - you found it.

I want to give 5 stars because food & service was great, but definitely overpriced. If you dont mind paying premium for Japanese food - definitely give it a try. Would say its very similar to a nobu vibe. Got all of the nigiris, miso soup, gyoza, yellowtail hamachi and a yuzu cocktail

Ridiculously expensive for this quality. Nothing tasted good. You can easily compare this food with supermarket sushi. Does not believe in good looking plating. The service was good tho.

First time here. Staff were very pleasant and took good care of us. This is an expensive restaurant but it can be affordable through set lunch menu. Water and coffee is included, which is nice. Personally, I would steer clear of the bento box but the ramen dishes all looked very nice.

First of all… space indoors it’s great… looks very nice… fresh! It has been few months since my last visit! Only have time now to review. The service itself was poor! I’ve booked a table for me and 2 clients. We got an outside table square for 3 of us… we felt struggling to move arms and seat comfortably… was quite hard to hear people next to me because of loud noises… they’ve literally stack us in corner to make money … trying to get more tables available for guest who would arrive! Food was to saucy , rich, oily, heavy! I’ve asked for few things that were super salty also! I get that they do that so clients drink more alcohol… but as a non drinker for 18 years isn’t great to deal with heavy oily and saucy meal’s… The desert menu also to much sugar on all only fruit option if you didn’t want any other deserts… No option for gluten free intolerance at time… staff was ok … we can’t expect much more from those who try their best and I’m sure the workers do! Indeed I would not go back paying meals with my own money unless someone offers to pay for me then I’m happy to go! Other wise it doesn’t worth the effort in my opinion there is so many other places much much better… at all levels! As the guy didn’t cared about me telling him we should have been sat at a bigger table… I thought he was careless … so my review is based on all…

Food is average and 100% overpriced. The same maki is found in all you can eat in London, but not for 40 euro per set😅. I know this is Monaco, but this scams have to stop - we need top best of the best for this money. Those who tell the best maki or sushi – havent tried any. Or it will taste good because you have spent so much on them and you won’t accept the reality. Service is quite good. Why should I visit again if food is not impressive and super expensive ?

I was few times there and actually everything was nice till our last time in December. I made a reservation via email, as we arrived there was one hostess, she was very unfriendly and arrogantly rude, she told us we booked outside, it was 8 degrees outside…. I showed her the email with reservation and there was nothing about outside. Ok, we got the table in the middle, with very uncomfortable chairs… well the restaurant wasn’t Full-booked and we were sitting there till 11pm and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Well the food is nice like always and the waiter was also friendly to us. It’s the first time in my life that I met such hostess in restaurant. I mean if she feel uncomfortable with her job, she shall get the new one. UPD: We went there few weeks ago, met friendly Hostes and got very nice table for the dinner. The food is delicious like always. Thank you:)

Absolutely the best sushi I've ever enjoyed. Very, very good service, highest quality food, amazing cocktails. We loved every bit of it, especially the wagyu. Only comment is the lounge tables had awful feet that took up the whole floor. I could not rest my feet comfortably for three hours.

I Went to this restaurant on a trip to monaco. The experience was amazing. Niwaki has ruined sushi for me here in the states. I normally go to local places in the states and I thought that was sushi, I was wrong. I'm not a fan of nigiri style sushi because I can usually taste the slight fishy flavor. A friend of mine who was with me who lives in the area said TRY the salmon belly and yellowtail nigiri. I expressed to him how I'm not a fan of that style of sushi. He ordered it for me because he did not want me to missout on what real sushi tastes like. I first tried the salmon belly (I hate salmon) Once I started chewing it,there was no meaty texture, no fishy taste. It was a smooth buttery taste in my mouth that was just amazing. The other thing that we ordered was Pumpkin Salad. I was like, HUH. The waiter said its delicious with chunks of pumpkin in it. My wife and I were perplexed and we ordered one to share. Never in my life have I had chunks of pumpkin like that and it was the single best Salad I have ever had, needless to say we ordered another one. Last day in Monaco we went back and ordered some gyoza and another two orders of Pumpkin Salad, it was amazing. The staff was super friendly. The service was that of any upscale restaurant that I have ever been to but they did not make it feel uptight, more like they were having a good time. Great crew. I truly look forward to going back in the near future.
