I buy quite a bit at auction. And quite a bit from Europe. This is proving to be the least professional house I have dealt with to date. Firstly they provided only a few of the condition reports I requested. One of the bids I placed sold for less than my maximum -yet no one will contact me after multiple attempts and requests. Why? I can only assume they sold it elsewhere and figure it is easier to ignore me rather than deal with an overseas client.

Excellent auction house. I had a problem with an item that arrived damaged. They quickly reconciled the situation. Sent me return labels and issued a refund. The auction house was quite accommodating. The person who handled my return was very responsive to the situation. I recommend this auction house.

The WORST EXPERIENCE ever. Won an item through online auction last Friday. This is by far not the first auction I attended through Invaluable, many auction houses just like this one, thousands miles away. Never had an issue communicating with the auction house, making payment and arranging for shipment. However Hotel des Ventes de Monte Carlo is AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!!! Received an initial invoice and asked to provide instructions for payment with credit card and shipping quote. MARINA CERRATO who initially sent me an invoice promised to get back with reply and 5 DAYS LATER I still had not heard from her. Emailed to a general manager- NO RESPONSE!!! ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND GIVE BAD NAME TO ONLINE AUCTIONS! STAY AWAY FROM THIS AUCTION HOUSE!!!

Auction house is located several thousand miles away from where I live. The specialists at HVMC were prompt with additional photos and a shipping quote before the auction. After the auction, they were very helpful in arranging payment online and were again prompt in getting the item crated and shipped for a reasonable price. Overall - PERFECT service. How all auction houses should work. I hope to be able to purchase from them again. Thank you, HVMC!
