A central part of Monaco culture. A true monaco institution. An excellent place to spend a delightful evening! The location above Monaco is epic. Organisation and queuing is a bit old school but the overall experience is magical.

I am gluten intolerant, so I brought my own popcorn to enjoy the movie like everyone else. However, I was stopped and told that I am not allowed to bring food with me. After explaining that the theater does not offer a gluten-free popcorn option, I still wasn’t allowed to bring my popcorn in. This feels like discrimination. If you have such rules, please ensure they do not discriminate against individuals with health issues.

I find it shocking that one has to wait ONE HOUR in line to get a bag of popcorn and a drink !! Whilst the venue itself is great, the whole experience was ruined because the managers of this place cannot allocate enough resources for the catering... In the middle of the previews, one of the bar attendants also had the decency to go on a break for 15 minutes. This is shocking !!

my and my brother arrived around an hour before the opening and stood in the at that moment small que, however people started cutting the line and going to the front in big groups. when we were just a few people from buying the tickets (after fairly standing in the line for an hour and not cutting to the front like others) they told people behind us that there will not be seats for them but we were supposed to get the tickets. when it was our turn a man cut straight in front if us and bought out the last tickets. the staff and the manager did nothing about even though we told them so we ended up not getting in.

SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE, NEVER AGAIN! I had hoped to watch the new Barbie film with my eight-year-old daughter, and we had taken an evening of our (very limited) holiday time to do so. However, it was not to be. The fools who run the Monaco Open Air Cinema have let their duopoly preclude a great experience for cinema-goers. They lack a system for advance booking, meaning that (unless you arrive an hour-and-a-half in advance) you are inevitably left to stand in a queue of enormous proportions, especially if you wish to secure the better seats. Moreover, the queue is singularly poorly managed, with lots of pushing, and otherwise little regulation. However, the biggest disappointment came when the bloke who was managing the queue asked all those who were willing to pay with cash to come forward. And then, promptly told all those in the card queue that the were no seats left, in spite of them having arrived earlier than those who could pay with cash. Again, this could have been avoided if they implemented an advance booking system. Upon receipt of the news that we could not enter, we asked the bloke running the queue why they did not have one; the response given was that they could not issue refunds. Presumably as a result of their poor financial management. When we found out that we were not going to be watching Barbie, my daughter became distraught as this was going to be a highlight of the trip for her. The abysmal management of the Monaco Open Air Cinema makes it extremely unlikely that I will ever return. Instead, I recommend taking your business to the lovely Cinéma des Beaux Arts. Don't bother with the Monaco Open Air Cinema, they don't bother to provide a good experience for you either.

A really special experience to watch a film on a warm Summer's evening in the open air in a comfortable seat overlooking Monte Carlo harbour. If you watch the film in Saturday you'll also enjoy a wonderful view of the harbour fireworks

What a truly remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime experience! We were lucky enough to have gone on the same night as the summer fireworks display, where I think it was Lithuania kickstarting the competition. The views were magnificent and they started the film (Lion King - highly recommended!) after the fireworks are done. It was a spectacular 2 for 1 deal and because of the sea breeze coming into port we were able to see the fireworks clearly as the view is from the sea side. The seating, food, and entire cinema ambiance is great! One of my favorite and most memorable things to do in Monaco.

During the summer a great way to spend with the family. We've combined it with the fireworks competition so it was really a magical night. Placed underneath the oceanography museum. Has a great view of the Mediterranean sea.
