Maya Bay in Monte Carlo was a fantastic experience. The food is very fresh, with interesting flavor combinations, and the menu is impressively rich — everyone can easily find something truly delicious for their taste.

In my opinion a somewhat tacky and pretentious scene altogether…
Some of the dishes were ok to good, however something I ate there gave me a pretty extreme case of food poisoning, which lasted throughout the night
It would appear that quality control re ingredients is pretty lax
Next day when I politely advised the manager of the issue, rather than accepting responsibility and apologising his response was ‘food poisoning takes 24 hours to take effect’
Guessing he earned a degree in medicine in a previous lifetime…😜
The overall experience was so totally inadequate that ‘never again’ springs to mind!

Fills the eyes and palate
Working dinner, ordered various dishes all good nothing to object, the flavor however is very conditioned by spices and sauces that make it difficult to really evaluate this cuisine. High prices, for me very high but in line with other Monegasque places. Local with ethnic furniture of great impact. In the room little light certainly atmosphere but you do not see what you eat.

Very pricey, arrogant service and the food is full of salt. The menu is too large and most of the food is prepared and frozen like Song Q. Pastor restaurants have never been good, maya ja closed, Valentino closed etc.

Tourist trap, frozen food, disinterested staff. Avoid !!!!
The staff are disinterested because they are underpaid. The kitchen smell enters the restaurant and we always stink of food when we depart. The menu is too long for such a small kitchen, may of the items are frozen prepared such as the side vegetables, the dumplings are also frozen and impossible to have been prepared fresh. Everything tastes the same as the salt all their foods and the pour soya sauce on top. It’s tourist trap and crap. The Maître d’ is a nice guy and should work in London or New York, he is wasted in Monaco.

Absolutely horrendous
My wife and I went to Mayabay in Dubai for my Birthday 2-3 years and it was great, really impressive. We thought this would be a similar experience so we booked it for my wife's 50th Birthday. Upon arriving and being seated I had a horrible feeling. It's not on the same scale as Dubai, and nowhere near as impressive, but the real problem thereafter were the staff. Lots of them keeping busy doing nothing. It was bizarre. It took us 20 minutes to get a menu. Service was poor all evening, they simply didn't care, and the food was very, very average. I informed the restaurant in advance of my wife's Birthday, the booking confirmation stated it was my wife's Birthday and whilst 2 of the tables closest to us had sparklers and little cakes delivered to their table, in acknowledgement of a birthday celebration, my wife got nothing, no acknowledgement whatsoever. All it takes is a sparkler!! My wife was really upset so I spoke to a waiter who just looked at me as if I was speaking Chinese and ignored my comments. Absolutely horrendous from start to finish.

Un posto molto carino da frequentare con famiglia, amici, informale ed accogliente. Il personale è cortese e disponibile, il cibo molto apprezzato, abbiamo provato sia carne, molto gustosa e di ottima qualità, sia il pesce. I dolci meno vari ma molto buoni. Un po’ rumoroso. La cosa divertentissima è stato il rientro in hotel con un mezzo non identificato, una specie di mini trenino.

We received a super friendly welcome and the location is incredibly stylish – a great first impression! For our daughter’s birthday we had reserved a table for 3 people, but unfortunately we were seated at a small table of two, where our daughter even had to sit in the corridor. The timing didn't go quite smoothly either: Our main course arrived just a few minutes after the appetizer, and the wine was only offered to us when the meal was almost finished. The food itself, however, was excellent and at a very high level – absolutely recommended! I would particularly like to highlight our waiter: He was incredibly thoughtful, did an excellent job and responded very professionally when we made our criticism. He also organized a little surprise for our daughter, which made the evening very special despite small shortcomings.

I’ve never written a review before, but after my experience at Maya Bay in Monaco, I feel I have no choice. Honestly, this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, and I’m still in disbelief that a restaurant in Monaco could manage to fail so spectacularly in every single area. I was seated alone and waited 45 minutes just to get a menu. The staff said they thought I was waiting for someone. I clearly stated I was alone at the entrance. Then came the table situation. I was approached three separate times about moving my table. The first two times I politely declined. The third time, they moved me without asking, and I ended up in the middle of the restaurant where people were constantly bumping into me. I couldn’t even sit back in my chair comfortably. I ordered sushi with crab meat. Within the first bite, I found hard crab shell pieces—literal skeleton fragments. I found at least four pieces, and I couldn’t eat the rest of the sushi as you can see in the picture. When I sent the pieces back to show the chef, I was told, “This is normal. We try to clean the crab, but this happens.” No. This is not normal, and at €93 for two sushi pieces and three pieces of gyozas, it is completely unacceptable. I refused the replacement because I didn’t want to risk paying more money for another poorly prepared dish. I will never go back, not even if I were starving.

Maya Bay never disappoints. This wasn’t my first time dining here, and somehow it just keeps getting better. The atmosphere is always spot-on — elegant yet relaxed, with that signature Monaco edge.
The Thai and Japanese fusion is consistently impressive. You can tell the ingredients are top quality, and the flavours are so well balanced. I always go back for the yellow tail sashimi (Thai way) and some prawn curry — both flawless every time. Cocktails are also a standout, with creative mixes that actually complement the food.
Service is just as memorable as the food — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It’s one of those places I make a point to return to whenever I’m in town. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates a refined dining experience with a bit of soul.

Evening for my husband's birthday, total indelicacy. Our friends had surprised us to offer us a champagne btl, we received the bill with the champagne btl 130€ and cashed 120 😂😂 shame we should not have seen it appear on the bill. The glass of wine 30€ and we don't even present you the bottle!! The 2nd glass filled with deposit .... I say I can't stand spicy dishes I'm recommended the impossible turbot to eat vegetables with my mouth on fire.... Well the waitress seems sorry but... Anyway pity the rest was perfect the waitress smiling and fast the cuisine excellent. Being of the trade and used to making very good table there these little details make l very average experience.

Mayabay is one of the most delicious restaurants in Monte Carlo. The interior is stunning — modern, stylish, and elegant. You immediately find yourself in an atmosphere of luxury and tranquility. Every single dish is incredibly tasty — huge thanks to the chefs for their talent. Make sure to book a table in advance, as the restaurant is almost always full of regular guests. The only downside is the service. Unfortunately, starting from the manager and down to the waitstaff, the attitude towards non-regular guests feels, let’s say, like a 2 out of 5. Hopefully, this will change over time, because the restaurant truly deserves top marks.

A 5-Star Dinner Experience! We had an amazing time at this restaurant! From start to finish, it was a perfect evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service from Len was exceptional – truly exquisite! The ambiance was just right, creating a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy our meal. And the dessert? It was the highlight of the night! We will definitely be back for another fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended!

Rude and hasty service. The goal of the place is to have a turn over as high as the tables. You have to order everything and immediately because after ‘I have another table’ so expressed the guy who served us. But what drove me to write the review was the refusal to change the table. The reason for our request was the cold so much so that we had to wear the coat. Today I'm feverish with red throat and eating in the cold did not promote digestion which was very difficult! Besides, they had free tables because we arrived at 2015. A couple near us made the same request and moved them to another room. Never again

The food is absolutely insane! Very very good and tasty! I recommend the sushi! Padthai doesn’t look like the picture, it was good but not as tasty as it looked on the picture! Food wise it’s one of my favourite place in Monaco, however the service is really poor, it’s such a shame! They have everything to be an unavoidable location in the principality but the service is downgrading the place! Cocktails are nice too!

Normally we would award a full 5 stars + again ...But this time we were disappointed by our visit! The food was Completely outstanding again. Really Mega! The service was unfortunately a complete failure! After my glass of wine was empty it was cleared without comment without asking if we want anything else!? We had even ordered a second bottle to keep it cold!!! After our main courses no more service came (35min)! Local was already half empty... no demand if we don't want to have another drink, no demand whether dessert or espresso. Incredible but true!!! So we paid and left.... we described the process to the restaurant manager. He apologized but there was the evening unfortunately around. Conclusion: It's not enough that service personnel are good at style - they should want to do their job too!

The food was average. The restaurant ambience is fancy and nice. The service was good. The staff were not as friendly and smiling as other places I’ve been to but they were still pretty attentive. Staff did not know if some items contained peanuts (as I have a peanut allergy). We did wait a bit for the bill. In terms of food, the beef gyoza was good. The mango sticky rice was styled to look like sushi. It did not taste like mango sticky rice but it was still good.

Disappointed ... I had been sold a dream ... we were far from the ...already the cocktails had almost no taste , the nice waitress wanted to sell us the new year leftovers ..I imagine the directions of the management, the starters ,for me Gyozas served without any sauce ...the main ,,a Thai pad without flavor , and tiger tears without any taste for my wife , then the deserts ,raspberry pistachio tacos ,sincerely again really not great, and for my wife , a sticky rice pudding ( revisited?!?!) horrible ...I don’t like to be mean but it’s real ...it’s only my opinion , maybe you will like ...

Cold food, argumentative staff and a dead atmosphere. We were seated without food menus for quite sometime and when we asked a maitre d for some (since the waiters had disappeared for sometime even though there was barely anyone in the restaurant), we were told that we had to wait for our waiter to come back. The maitre d made no attempt to find a waiter and just continued chatting with the other two maitre ds for the remainder of the evening and all stayed glued to their phones (see photo). Turning to the food, we had some lovely starters (dumplings and sushi), but when the mains were served (lobster curries x 2 and a prawn curry) these were served cold and when we complained and sent them back, all of the main dishes were simply reheated. The dishes came back cold twice and on the third time we just got fed up and ate the now soggy lobster and luke warm food…. Sadly, our comments were met with an argumentative and frosty attitude… it's not what you expect when you order dishes with lobster or go out ti have a nice dinner.

The dumplings were very good and well made aswell as a lot of the sushi. Unfortunately apparently there was an “error” with the menu so when we had ordered 2 salmon avocado rolls, we only got salmon. Otherwise all was good. I have been many times and am always impressed with the sushi quality and the amazing atmosphere.

My experiences at Mayabay are always a success ! Asian elegant restaurant located close to the larvotto zone. The sushi there is amazing, fresh and delicious! I also recommend the tiger cut that comes with a not so spicy sauce or the crispy duck that comes with rice tortillas and veggies to roll up. For dessert I recommend mochis (there’s a very big selection you can choose whatever you want and how many you please) or the cotton candy. At lunch they make a formula including a box with a variety of sushi / food (it changes often) for a very honest price. I totally recommend😍

My friend and I decided to have a quick lunch. The decor was just sublime. We were seated in the back of the restaurant, it was very cozy. We’ve had the set menu with sushi platter, followed by grilled salmon and red berries panna cotta. My friend ordered also the Phad Kadiap (grilled Okra with sesame oil). It was THE BEST OKRAS I’ve ever had. Perfectly grilled with smoky flavor. Until now I was dreaming about it. The Yam avocado salad was also delicious. Great selection of wine. I couldn’t resist, so I’ve orders also their Intensely chocolate soufflé, served with vanilla ice-cream. It was 10/10!!! Truly amazing!!! The service was very welcoming, professional, and fast. A big mention to Mauro, who was very delightful with us. Grazie mille 🙏🏻 Definitely we’ll be back, I can’t wait to try their Black Cod 😊

Very fancy restaurant. The air in the restaurant was heavily perfumed with airfresher. This disturbed my tastebutts to the point were i could not sense the taste of the food i ate. The entrée were some weired, hard green beans. It took me a moment to figure out that i could only eat the inside and not the shell. The main meal was served in a fancy coconut but the meal itself tasted very ordinary. To waiter was very nice and attentive. All in all i didn't like the restaurant and will not go back.

Many friends suggested to visit. Was picked for the family member birthday. We were disappointed and even never discussed our evening there. - The food is good. Indeed it’s delicious and decent value for money. No complaints. - The atmosphere is completely ruined by the very tight sitting arrangement. We are so damn close to each other with people we don’t know, it just brings too much attention and stress and takes attention away from the family dinner. It’s really inappropriate and below any standard of customer care. - interior is not modern and not for everybody. It’s a heavy eclectic of classic, Asian, floral, Japanese - so thé Russian salade which happens in the places where they want to impress everybody. -The menu is huge and actually there are no specialities. You can try whatever it will be acceptable level, and not emotionally charged. -the wine card is huge and hectic. In general. It’s not the place to feel hospitality and warmth. It’s another wanna be status place for the instagram fashion queens. Hospitality is not when the waiter offers the cocktail card on his knees. Hospitality is something else, completely missing there. The evening was very cold.

I went without a reservation but got a good table still. The ambiance was lovely, just like the food. The price on the other hand is peculiar to Monaco but far not regular for the meal served, if you know what I mean. So do not consider it if you are on a budget 😅 All in all, I will definitely be back!

Very good and very fast service. The food is rapidly ready and brought to your table and the waiters are very friendly and nice. The food is ok, but not the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. It is ok, made with good ingredients and tastes okay. A shout out to the deserts that were better than we expected. The restaurant is nice and the music is nice inside. Make sure you make a reservation because it is always full of people.
